These Terms apply to Game of the Generals — Salpakan (“Salpakan,” “Service”).
Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using Salpakan, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Consider having these Terms reviewed by qualified legal counsel before publication.
1. Operator
The Service is operated by RLC Information Technology Solutions (“we,” “us,” “Operator”), with contact at legal@rlcappsolutions.com.
2. Description of the Service
Salpakan is a digital adaptation of the strategy board game experience inspired by Game of the Generals / Salpakan. Features may include online play, matchmaking, rankings (e.g. ELO), in-game chat, AI opponents, subscriptions (“Command Clearance” / PRO features), and related content.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice where practicable.
3. Acknowledgment and thanks — original board game
The classic tabletop game Game of the Generals (Filipino: Salpakan) was created by Sofronio H. Pasola Jr. in 1970 in the Philippines. The Pasola family’s work helped bring this form of strategic play to many players over decades.
We express our sincere thanks and credit to Sofronio H. Pasola Jr. for inventing Game of the Generals. This application is an independent digital implementation and is not presented as the official product of Mr. Pasola, his estate, or any specific successor rights holder, unless the Operator separately publishes a license or partnership statement.
Trademarks, trade names, and other rights in the original game may belong to third parties. Nothing in these Terms grants you any license to physical products, boxed rules, or branding beyond what is necessary to use this app under our license to you.
4. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and meet any minimum age we specify (e.g. 13+ or higher where required). You are responsible for account security and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information where asked.
Guest or limited accounts may have reduced features or data retention as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or use unauthorized automation.
- Harass, threaten, or use hate speech toward other users in chat or elsewhere.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload our systems.
- Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation with the Operator or third parties.
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
6. User content (e.g. chat)
You retain rights to content you submit, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display such content solely to operate and improve the Service (e.g. delivering chat to your opponent, safety, and support).
You represent that your content does not violate law or third-party rights.
7. Subscriptions and payments
Paid features may be offered via Apple App Store or Google Play. Purchases are subject to those platforms’ terms. Refunds are handled per store policies unless otherwise required by law.
Pricing and entitlements may change; we will describe material changes reasonably in advance where required.
8. Intellectual property — the app
The Salpakan app (code, UI, artwork specific to this implementation, and original text we provide) is owned by the Operator or its licensors, except where open-source or third-party licenses apply. These Terms do not sell you the underlying software; we grant a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app as offered.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on Firebase and other third parties (see Privacy Policy). Their terms and privacy policies also apply to their processing.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50 — adjust with counsel if your jurisdiction requires a different cap or currency.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify the Operator against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, risk, or operational reasons. Provisions that by nature should survive (e.g. licenses for enforcement, limitations, indemnity) will survive.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Subject to mandatory consumer protection laws in your country, the courts of Metro Manila, Philippines have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, unless otherwise required by applicable law — customize with counsel for cross-border sales.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised Terms and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes may constitute acceptance, where allowed by law.
